Portland Local Business Highlight

Portland Local Business Highlight

As a small locally operated business, we love to celebrate our neighbors! Portland is home to more amazing small businesses than we can count (or fit onto a list!) so consider this round-up part one!

1. Woonwinkel

A home furnishings and gift shop favorite, Woonwinkel has a vibrant, modern, and fun mix of everything from gardening, to furniture, to luscious textiles (including Studio Proba rugs) I recently picked up some Estelle glassware for a fun pop of color in my otherwise monochromatic kitchen.

Swing by the next time you’re in the mood for a home design pick-me-up, you won’t regret it.

2. Shop Boswell

Where utilitarian + timeless + sustainable meet with design, Shop Boswell focuses on quality handcrafted pieces, from pottery to apparel you’ll find unique and quality pieces in this charming local storefront.

3. Primecut Bags

Handcrafted leather, cowhide, and shearling bags in playful colors and textures are made right here in Portland. They’re crafting backpacks, bumbags, coin pouches and so much more! Doing collabs with other small businesses such as local yarn store Ritual Dyes, we love to feel the local spirit.

4. Una

International artists and makers curated into a boutique setting in SE Portland. Peruse their clothing and jewelry, or look for new pieces for your home.

5. Vein of Gold

A consignment space in North Portland, Vein of Gold focuses on timeless wears and believes in waste reduction in the fashion industry. Its right down the street from me, so bonus points for convenient location! You’ll also find a stock of curated goods, as well as art shows in their shop.

6. Pigeon Toe

Handmade in Portland, Pigeon Toe creates beautiful, aesthetic ceramics. Pieces are vibrant and minimalist and made with love + care since 2008. I have a few of their thimbles in warm desert tones, the perfect size for dips.

7. Coy + Co

Portland’s first sustainability-certified florist. Coy + Co is a queer woman-owned shop off E Burnside. All flowers are sourced from local farms, are biodegradable and nontoxic, and never involve the use of single-use plastic. Lyndsea offers subscriptions so you can get your flower fix on a regular basis!

8. Urbanite

Urbanite is home to a collection of over 40 local interior creators. Shop Wilma is my personal fav for fun vintage furniture + decor finds. Separated into boutiques by style, there is something here for everyone, whether it’s something you already love or a new style you find and fall in love with.

9. MANTEL PDX

A woman-owned and operated business, MANTEL specializes in local makers carrying vibrant and playful goods. And its in my neighborhood! I have glassware, ceramics, candles, even jewelry all from Mantel. She carries the most curated selection of home goods in the city.

10. Monochromatic

Monochromatic is a women-owned business off of N Wiliams, focusing on pronoun-inclusive, ethically made clothing. Devoted to working towards a more equitable and environmentally safe future, a portion of all of their sales is donated to organizations that share the same goals and beliefs.

11. Artifact

A consignment shop located in SE Portland, Artifact is a curated selection of vintage + modern clothing, homewares, art and more. Dedicated to finding cool pieces and being a part of the community, artifact also hosts Funday Flea, a $1 flea market that gives proceeds to local non profits. Artifact is also one of my go to recommendations for consignment.
