my favorite home organizing products from the new konmari container store collection
Happy Monday and what an exciting one it is! I’ve been waiting for months to finally see this collection from Marie Kondo release. As a certified konmari consultant, we had the inside scoop on this collection coming out since last fall, and I got to see everything a few hours before the big release today.
What makes it different?
This line of organizing products are made of sustainable, recycled materials and a beautiful japanese minimalist aesthetic make up all 105 items of Marie Kondo’s latest collection, released both on Container Store and Konmari.com. Using materials like ceramic, glass, bamboo, woven rattan and recycled paper for a beautiful well rounded collection. She has included products to organize closets, office, paper, kitchen, pantry, kids rooms, everything is incredibly versatile.
Favorites for closets
She has included both wood and metal options for hangers, the white metal + wood aesthetic is definitely my favorite. I love that there are options for kids size, pants hangers, as well as a cute accessory hanger.
The rattan bins would be great for sweaters, folded jeans, and accessories. The woven bins from the kids collection could work for all of these, plus a great option to hide away toys.
Favorites for kitchen
I can’t tell you how excited I am to finally be able to recommend a non acrylic solution to clients for the fridge! This has been sorely needed when it comes to organizing the fridge. There are also options for an egg carton, bottle storage, berry colander, and various sized bins for freezer + fridge use. They are all a beautiful white ceramic with bamboo lids. You could even add labels if you like.
Another big breakthrough in the kitchen area is the spice jars. I love the white ceramic, but theres also a glass option thats equally aesthetically pleasing. The labels are a great option for spice organization, or if you prefer a minimalist look, go with the glass without labels or attach labels to the bottle of the jar.
Favorites for office
Paper clutter has met its match with this new line made of post consumer recycled paper. Similar to several of the bigso linen collection I love in the minimal market, this one being more sustainable gives it the edge. Theres a great vertical file, which I recommend for incoming paper clutter to be sorted on a weekly basis. There are options for document storage, photo storage + letter storage, could also double as sentimental storage. The desktop file box is a great option for a minimal paper organization system, as I always say you can get rid of so much paper clutter, its rare that you’ll need more than will fit in one file box per person, after digitizing everything else.
Hikidashi boxes
Finally, I couldn’t leave out the most versatile, OG konmari organizing tool, the hikidashi box. For those of you looking for a streamlined option for any drawer organization, this is the perfect solution for you. Marie has optimized the sizing options to work for practically any purpose, and they now come in several finish options, I love the calm collection the best, however there are several others to choose from.
